A U.S. District Judge charged 16 people at a Florida timeshare exit firm for their participation in a fraudulent exit scheme.
As detailed in an online story, according to court records, from 2015 through at least 2018, the conspirators worked to take money from victims throughout the United States who wanted to sell their timeshare or other properties.
The conspirators placed telephone calls to these victims impersonating attorneys and real estate professionals. They then misled the timeshare owners into believing that the conspirators had identified buyers for the victims' timeshares and other properties.
