Timeshare Road Trip Tips

I t's not about the destination, it's about the journey. And sometimes it's about both! As you gear up for your next timeshare vacation remember to make the most out of every single moment, including the journey there! Here are a few quick tips to get you (and your car) ready to enjoy the open road.

1. Give Your Car A Thorough Check-Up
When taking a road trip, it's extremely important to have a safe and reliable vehicle, preferably a week or so before you head out. Before hitting the open road, check your car's wiper blades, fluid levels, tire pressure, lights, etc. It's always better to be safe than sorry.

2. Have Reliable Navigation Tools
We've all been lost before, and we all know how miserable it can be. It's easy to use Google Maps or other GPS apps on a smartphone, but having an actual map on hand or directions printed out can come in handy in case of lost cell service.

3. Make A Road Trip Playlist
There's nothing quite like a playlist full of back-to-back good tunes on a long road-trip. Whether you're traveling with young children, grandparents, or a group of friends, be prepared with different playlists that have something everyone will enjoy.

4. Pack For The Road
You're hitting the road in the morning, your bags are packed with the essentials for the timeshare vacation, but what about the car ride? Throw in jugs of water to refill your water bottles, have a couple of car chargers on hand, grab pillows and blankets for sleepy travelers, and most importantly entertainment for young kids such as games or an iPad.

5. Snacks, Snacks, Snacks
Speaking of packing the essentials, don't forget about snacks! Nothing takes the fun out of a road trip like having a car full of hangry passengers. Stopping delays your arrival and can make your journey feel even longer - so be sure to pack some snacks for the car and keep them within reach. Trail mix, peanut butter crackers, carrots, and pre-packed sandwiches are the perfect, no-mess snacks for the road. An added bonus is that when you get to your timeshare unit, throw the leftover snacks in the fridge to save for the journey home.
