How To Stay Healthy During Your Timeshare Travels

July 10, 2019
Timeshare Travel Vacation

Even though timeshare vacations can give you a break from the daily grind and provide some much needed rest and relaxation, they can also be where our healthy habits fall away. Flying can cause significant stress on the body and finding a healthy meal in any airport can be tricky. Most people also ditch their workout plans while on vacation and promise to get back on track when they return home. But these healthy habits don't need to be tossed away when embarking on a timeshare vacation.

Take Vitamins
Before you head to the airport, stock up on essential vitamins you'll need to build up a strong immune system for your timeshare travels. Vitamin C is an important vitamin that fortifies the immune system and may prevent you from catching a cold from other passengers on the plane. You can also find vitamins with garlic and ginger that are known for keeping germs away. Check with your doctor first before taking any supplements.

Stay Hydrated
Staying hydrated is key when traveling. On your way to the airport, drink one liter of water, preferably with electrolytes, and then drink another liter at your gate followed by one more on your flight. Don't worry, it's good to stand and take a bio-break on a long flight. Just remember to only get up with the fasten seatbelt sign is off. And don't forget to pack a reusable water bottle so you can keep filling up for free and save the planet from more plastic bottles.

Find Fresh Fruits and Vegetables
Airplane food is not exactly known for being health conscious. While it may be easy to opt for a quick bag of chips or a candy bar, there are other healthier options to consider. Pack fruits, nuts and vegetables in your carry-on bag to snack on during your timeshare travels. If you're stuck in the airport for a long layover, search for a restaurant that serves fresh vegetables and lean protein that will keep you feeling full and satisfied.

Cook On Vacation
When you arrive at your timeshare resort one of the first things you should do after settling in is take a trip to the local grocery store. Fill your cart with healthy items so you can cook in the comfort of your timeshare kitchen. Stock up on lean protein, fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts and seeds to get you through your days. Not only will this help you stay on track, but it will also help you save money on eating out for every meal.

Work Out At Your Timeshare Resort
Being on vacation isn't a valid excuse to stray away from your fitness regime. Write down a list of exercises that can be done in your timeshare unit, such as planks, lunges, squats and crunches, and devote 15-20 minutes a day to completing them especially if you're not being active exploring the destination. Or head over to your timeshare resort's gym and use the equipment and fitness amenities available there. And check out your resort's activities schedule for fun programs. Be sure to check with your doctor before staring a fitness regime.
